Capturing the Essence of Full Bloom

Full bloom 2025 did not disappoint! We enjoyed several weeks of purple splendor, numerous events and countless visitors. Now that the blooms have faded, we’re entering harvest and distilling season here at the farm. During the next two weeks, the bulk of our lavender will be harvested and distilled. It’s definitely bittersweet for us. We look forward to the beauty and fragrance of full bloom all year long and we hate to see it end.

Fortunately, distillation allows us to preserve the essence of full bloom, transforming our lavender into essential oil and hydrosol – the key ingredients in our handcrafted product line. At Field & Flock, we extract lavender essential oil through a process of steam distillation. The final product is a pure, concentrated oil that has a long list of properties and uses. You can find out more by reading our blog post. In addition to essential oil, the distilling process also produces lavender hydrosol. If you’re new to hydrosol, we encourage you to read all about it here. In my opinion, lavender essential oil and lavender hydrosol are must-have products for health, beauty and wellness. They’re all natural, chemical free products that have countless uses and smell incredible too!

So you see, although the excitement of full bloom is over, lavender season is still going strong. We’re busy bottling up pure, lavender goodness so you can enjoy the benefits of lavender all year long.
For the remainder of the season, the farm and shop will be open on Saturdays from 11-4. If you can’t get to the farm, be sure to shop our online store for essential oil, hydrosol and so much more!
See you soon!
