Chase Away the Winter Doldrums


 

Our sense of smell is pretty powerful. Have you ever noticed that different scents can bring back specific memories or feelings?  Think about the feeling you get when you smell cookies baking, pumpkin spice, or the air after a fresh snowfall.  These distinct aromas instantly transport you to your mother's kitchen, a fall festival, or a day of sledding.

 

Because aromas have an impact on our emotions, diffusing essential oils can help to lift your spirits, make you feel cozy, or help you feel energized.  This is especially helpful during these long winter months when many of us just start to feel blah.

 

I've talked about diffusing lavender essential oil in my previous blog post.  The calming, soothing scent is a wonderful reminder of warm summer days.  It's one of my favorite oils to diffuse any time of the year.
